Deacon Larry's mother introduced him to Catholicism as young boy. He had his First Holy Communion and Confirmation at The Church of the Incarnation in Washington, DC. Deacon Larry attended elementary and middle schools in Washington, DC. In the 9th grade he transferred to Fairmont Heights and graduated in 1956. He served in the US Army for two years and graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC with a degree in Pyschology.
In 1990, Msgr. Raymond East suggested that Deacon Larry attend the diaconate training program and he did. Deacon Larry retired from the federal government on September 3, 1993. His services for the Lord as a deacon began 23 days later.
Deacon Larry is a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Moderator), 4th Degree of Knights of St. Peter Claver, Cursillio, Kappa Alpha Psi (Charter Member), Men of St. Teresa (MOST).
