Altar Servers

Adults and you in the Fourth grade and above to serve God by assisting the Presiding Priest during Mass. Altar Servers hold the candle while accompanying the Cross-bearer, hold the Sacramentary for the Priest, helps at presentation of the gifts and throughout the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Altar Servers must have received their first Holy Communion.

Children's Liturgy of the Word

Lead children through the Liturgy of the Word prayer experience during the 10:30 am Mass on Sundays during the school year.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Assist with distributing the Eucharist at Mass, cleaning vessels after Mass, and taking the Eucharist and prayer to the homebound. To serve in this ministry you must be Catholic in good standing and have received Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation.

The role of the Lector is to proclaim the Word of God at Mass and other liturgies throughout the year with reverence and understanding.

The most important time requirement is to become familiar with the message of your readings by practicing several times before Mass. Lectors receive a workbook with readings so you can prepare at home. Archdiocese training workshops are available also.

The role of an Usher is to:

  • welcome parishioners with a warm smile and a greeting
  • pay special attention to visitors
  • select parishioners to carry gifts at offertory procession
  • collect offering at collection time
  • provide information about the Church
  • distribute bulletins
