2019 Parish Pastoral Council Elections

The Parish Pastoral Council (PPC) election will be held the weekend of Pentecost Saturday, June 8 and Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Written nominations from anyone interested in serving as a member of the council are accepted through Sunday, May 19, 2019.

The PPC serves:

  • to enlist cooperative efforts of clergy, religious, and the laity in carrying on the apostolic work of the Church
  • to maintain a two-way channel of communication between the priest and the laity on matters which concerns the good of the Church
  • to provide the pastor with information that will assist him with tailoring the spiritual and temporal needs of the Church.  

The requirements to be a member of the PPC are:

  • be sacramentally fully-initiated Catholics
  • be registered, practicing members of Mount Calvary Parish
  • be 18 years of age or older.

 

 

Delaware Park Casino and Raceway Trip

The Sodality of Blessed Virgin Mary is sponsoring a trip to Delaware Park Casino and Raceway on Saturday June 29, 2019. Minimum age 21.  Total cost is $45 with $30 free slot play. Advanced registration required with full payment due by June 1, 2019. Bus departs Mount Calvary Catholic Church parking lot at 8:00 am sharp with estimated return at 6:00 pm.

Family Retreat

Please come out and join us at the Family Retreat on Saturday, June 8 from 10;00 am - 3:00 pm. Deacon Richard Walker from St. Luke`s Church will be leading the retreat, "Family in Faith: Past, Present, and Future". In addition, a continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.

RSVP no later than May 26, 2019 by signing the registration sheet located on the desk in the vestibule of the church.

Father Anthony Appreciation

Father Anthony Anokete, a priest in residence at Mount Calvary Catholic Church, is pursuing an advanced degree at the behest of his bishop in Nigeria. To express our appreciation for his commitment earlier this year, a reception is planned to honor him on Sunday, June 2, 2019 after the 10:30 am Mass.
